If your goal is to get in better shape this year and for the foreseeable future, then stop using the words, “I am going on a diet.” The word diet brings up the idea that there is a beginning and an end point, and once you have reached your goal, your “diet” is over and you can go back to eating the same foods that you used to. If you do this, your outcome will inevitably be the same time and time again so you must “diet”.
Getting more fit and losing weight is a lifestyle change. One that has a beginning, but no end because you are reprogramming yourself to make better choices. A big change will be to stay away from processed and fried foods. Sure, every once in a while, you may indulge in french fries. However, as your goals materialize, and you begin to see changes in how you look and feel, you won’t want greasy foods on a daily basis.
Change your thought process from “diet” which brings up the inaccurate image of tasteless rabbit food to the idea of an overall healthy change with natural foods that will last a lifetime.
