“If you are persistent, you will get it. If you are consistent, you will keep it.”
“It is not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives, it’s what we do consistently.” – Tony Robbins
And the quotes can go on forever.
Consistency is the key to success in all facets of life. If your goals are to become more fit, then you will be more apt to see these changes and transformations in your physique through consistent steady workouts instead of intermittent intense training. You also increase your chances of injury by training haphazardly.
I often get asked around this time of year about how busy I will become in January with the “New Year’s Resolutioner’s”. In all honesty, I really look forward to the people that come and train with me in October or November instead of those that decide to wait until the New Year. If you want to change your life, then don’t put it off. Start today.
Many people that say they will start in the New Year, will train hard for about 3 weeks, but then they will quit and move on to another project. Most results don’t come in a short amount of time. In those three weeks, we are setting the baseline for what I hope will become a habit. Then, my goal is for this habit to stay with you forever.
Sure, if you haven’t worked out in a long time or if at all, the first few weeks are trying because I focus on form and setting up the basics for what is to come. We have also just barely touched the surface of your nutritional needs.
There will often be days when you begin training, or for that matter even if you have been training for years, that you just don’t want to do it. Your motivation is low and your desire almost zero, but I guarantee you will never regret it after the workout. As you stick with training and couple your training with good eating habits, then over time, you will see the results you desire.
